Black Montana Native, Al Jones is a descendant of the Confederated Salish Kootenai Tribes of the Flathead Reservation in Big Sky Montana. He completed his undergraduate studies as a student-athlete at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon prior to entering the Oregon State University/Oregon Health & Sciences University PharmD program. As a PharmD student in the College of Pharmacy, Jones plays an active role on the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) committee in addition to serving as the Class President for the cohort of 2022—an elected position he has held since his PharmD matriculation in 2018. 

Jones has a passion for clinical pharmacy and looks forward to contributing to the field of pharmacy as a specialized clinician while advocating for vulnerable and underrepresented populations. Jones has professional interests in the areas of leadership development, inclusive & team-based leadership and DEI. His clinical interests and strengths are dominated by critical care, infectious diseases, transplant medicine, nephrology and wilderness medicine. Jones looks forward to pursing PGY1 and PGY2 training before dedicating his career towards exceptional leadership, expanding opportunities for those in need and saving lives.
