Andre Abreu, Pharm.D., MPH, is a public health professional and researcher at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation/FIOCRUZ working on projects related to strengthening laboratory surveillance and the implementation of the U.S. National Action Plan for tackling antimicrobial resistance. He served as the Director of the Department of Surveillance of Communicable Diseases and General Coordinator of Public Health Laboratories at the Brazilian Ministry of Health. He was involved in the Quadripartite Technical Working Group (TWG) on Economics in Antimicrobial Resistance, the Brazilian Ministry of Health TWG on Antimicrobial Resistance and served as a Pan American Health Organization consultant on the project "Working Together to Fight AMR.”
