Andrea M. Rediske, Ph.D., is a professor of microbiology in the Science Department at Valencia College, East Campus. Her master’s work focused on utilizing ultrasound, combined with antibiotics, to treat biofilm infections of implanted medical devices. Her doctoral work focused on post-secondary science education assessment methods and curriculum development. Her current focus as a science educator is using research-based methods to develop effective in-person and online curricula, as well as mentoring part-time faculty as biology coordinator for the science department. Rediske was part of the team that developed the Microbiology for Health Sciences Concept Inventory (MHSCI), and she continues to conduct research on the MHSCI.
