Candace Rouchon, Ph.D.

Candace Rouchon, Ph.D. is currently a health scientist at BARDA, where she serves as chief of staff for the Influenza and Emerging Infectious Diseases Division. Prior to joining BARDA Rouchon completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the department of microbiology and immunology at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. Rouchon completed her undergraduate studies at the Pennsylvania State University and obtained her Ph.D. from New York Medical College. Rouchon’s research was primarily focused on bacterial pathogenesis and the development of clinically relevant animal models. Prior to completing her graduate studies, Rouchon provided administrative and regulatory support for HIV and cancer-related clinical trials. Rouchon is a member of the ASM Subcommittee on the Status of Women in Microbiology (SWIM).
