Christine B. Charlip was the director, ASM Press, the book publishing program of the American Society for Microbiology. She lead the development of new content, including textbooks, reference manuals, general interest titles and online resources. Her work with the ASM Press Committee assured that acquisitions are vetted by experts and published content continues to be the highest quality in the field of microbiology.
Charlip also managed the relationship with ASM Press publishing partner, John Wiley and Sons, Inc. Wiley utilizes its global scale to promote awareness of, sell and distribute ASM Press products.
After completing graduate studies in ecology and neurobiology more than 3 decades ago, Charlip entered the field of scholarly communications and has published books and journals for the American Gastroenterological Association, National Association of Home Builders, and American Diabetes Association. She joined ASM in 2011.
