Dave Westenberg, Ph.D.

Dr. Dave Westenberg is Associate Professor of Biological Sciences at Missouri University of Science and Technology. He earned his Ph.D. in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from UCLA. Dave has been an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow in Goettingen and Marburg, Germany and a USDA post-doctoral fellow at Dartmouth. He co-directed the Missouri S&T Science Education and Quantitative Literacy program for K-12 teachers and chaired the ASM Committee for K-12 Outreach, is an ASM Biology Scholar and an HHMI Bionteractive Teacher Ambassador. He is co-advisor to Helix, the S&T ASM Student Chapter, and the Missouri S&T IGEM, synthetic biology student design team.
