David van Duin, MD, PhD, FIDSA, FAST, is a professor of medicine with tenure and Associate Chief in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of North Carolina. Duin is the founding Director of the Immunocompromised Host ID service. His main research interests are multi-drug resistant gram-negative bacteria and infections in immunocompromised patients.
