Emily Fisher, Ph.D.

Emily Fisher, Ph.D., received her Ph.D. in biological sciences from UNC Chapel Hill and has been at Johns Hopkins since 2008. She is currently an associate teaching professor in the department of biology and is the director of undergraduate studies for the molecular and cellular biology major. Fisher teaches large-enrollment core courses in the molecular and cellular biology major, a microbiology senior elective course and phage hunting (part of the HHMI SEA-PHAGES program). Fisher works with the JHU Center for Teaching Excellence and Innovation on professional development relevant to higher education for graduate students, postdocs and faculty. She was a Biology Scholars Scholar-in-Residence in 2013 and presented a Microbrew at ASMCUE in 2019.
