Heba Mostafa, M.D., Ph.D., D(ABMM), completed her M.D. at the Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University, Egypt. She then moved to the United States, where she earned her Ph.D. in microbiology at the University of Kansas (Lawrence, Kan.), followed by 3 years of postdoctoral research fellowship at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (Memphis, Tenn.) Mostafa completed her clinical microbiology fellowship training at the University of Rochester Medical Center (Rochester, N.Y.) and earned her ABMM certification. She currently serves as an associate professor of pathology at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and the director of the Molecular Virology Laboratory at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
