Jonathan Pekar is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at the University of California San Diego and is advised by Dr. Joel Wertheim. He received his B.A. in biology from Williams College and his M.S. in bioengineering from the University of California San Diego. His research is focused on evolutionary biology and the emergence and dynamics of viruses.
