Joseph R. Graber

Joseph R. Graber joined the Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Office of Biological and Environmental Research (BER) as a program manager in 2008. He is currently the Team Lead for BER’s Genomic Science Program, supporting fundamental systems biology research on microbes, plants, and communities relevant to DOE missions in energy and the environment. Before joining BER’s permanent staff, Dr. Graber was an American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science & Technology

Policy Fellow with DOE-BER from 2006 to 2008. Dr. Graber received his Ph.D. in Microbiology & Molecular Genetics from Michigan State University and was a National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow in Microbial Biology at the University of Hawaii and the University of Wisconsin, Madison. His past research focused on microbial ecology, physiology of anaerobic microbes, and host-microbiome interactions in invertebrate animals.
