Justine Dees is a freelance microbial science writer with a Ph.D. in microbiology. Her doctoral research at the University of Texas at Austin focused on Pseudomonas aeruginosa antimicrobial resistance and interspecies interactions. During her postdoc at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, she researched Haemophilus influenzae antibiotic resistance.
