Katie Tifft, Ph.D., earned a doctorate in cell biology from Johns Hopkins University where she is now an associate teaching professor in the department of biology. For the past 13 years she has taught hundreds of undergraduates and implemented evidence-based changes in biochemistry and cell biology in addition to other courses. In addition, she has extensively participated in professional development programming for faculty, post-docs and graduate students primarily through the Johns Hopkins Center for Teaching Excellence and Innovation. Tifft has engaged with ASM as a Scholar-in-Residence with the Biology Scholars Program in 2013, a facilitator for the 2016 Biology Scholars Education Research Hybrid Program and an attendee and presenter at multiple ASM Conference for Undergraduate Educator meetings.
