Kristine Wylie is an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Washington University in St. Louis.
She studies the effects of the virome/microbiome on reproductive health. As a virologist, she is particularly interested in mechanisms underlying virus-host dynamics throughout the lifespan. Her work involves human studies carried out with clinical collaborators in addition to in vitro infection models, molecular biology, and genomics/bioinformatics.
Kristine is passionate about education and outreach, and she is the co-PI of a Science Education Partnership Award that aims to provide genomics/bioinformatics education and research opportunities to underserved high school students. She is an enthusiastic supporter of ASM and its promotion of innovative science, effective communication, and mentored career development.
