Nancy Wamburu, M.S., has a master’s degree in microbiology and immunology from Johns Hopkins University’s Bloomberg School of Public Health, where her thesis centered on the impact that antibiotics administered to food animals have on antibiotic resistance in humans.

Wamburu has been working in clinical microbiology for the past 16 years, both in hospital and reference laboratories, where her main areas of interest have been nosocomial infections, antimicrobial resistance and infection prevention. Her most recent experience has been with start-up laboratories, providing technical oversight for diagnostic testing and pursuing accreditations/licensing from the College of American Pathologists and other agencies.
