Dr. Nira Pollock is the Associate Medical Director of the Infectious Diseases Diagnostic Laboratory at Boston Children’s Hospital and a member of the Division of Infectious Diseases at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, Mass. Pollock has an active research program focused on the development and evaluation of novel diagnostic tests for infectious diseases and related applications. Her diagnostics research spans a range of diseases, including C. difficile infection, active and latent tuberculosis, influenza, Lyme disease and Ebola virus disease (EVD) and involves many different technologies, ranging from simple paper-based lateral flow and microfluidic platforms to novel automated platforms for protein and nucleic acid detection.
