Payal Maharaj

Iowa State University and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Dr. Payal Maharaj got her Ph.D. in Comparative Pathology focused on Vectorborne Diseases from the University of California, Davis. She is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow both with Iowa State University and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Her research is focused on investigating mechanisms of arbovirus pathogenesis. She is also passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of microbiologists.
