Susan S. Golden, Ph.D., is Distinguished Professor of Molecular Biology at the University of California San Diego, where she holds the Chancellor’s Associates III Chair and serves as Director of the Center for Circadian Biology. Her research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanism of circadian timekeeping in the model cyanobacterium Synechococcus elongatus and developing biotechnological applications for the organism. She is an elected member of the American Academy of Microbiology and the National Academy of Sciences.
