
Vikram Kapoor, Ph.D.

Dr. Vikram Kapoor is an associate professor in the School of Civil & Environmental Engineering and Construction Management at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). He received his Ph.D. in environmental engineering from the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio and his bachelor’s in biotechnology from Jaypee Institute of Information Technology in India.
Before joining UTSA, he worked as an ORISE postdoctoral research fellow at the National Risk Management Research Laboratory at the United States Environmental Protection Agency in Cincinnati, Ohio. Kapoor’s research interests lie at the cross section of environmental microbiology, biotechnology and environmental engineering. His work incorporates various research tools such as molecular-based identification techniques, bench-scale bioreactors, bioinformatics and omics methods, including metagenomics and metatranscriptomics.
