ASM believes that everyone deserves a shot, so during the month of June, we are raising funds to help COVAX get COVID-19 vaccines distributed worldwide. Join us as we show the world how knowledge of microbiology translates into lives saved.

COVAX is co-led by the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), Gavi and the World Health Organization (WHO), alongside key delivery partner UNICEF. Its aim is to accelerate the development and manufacture of COVID-19 vaccines and to guarantee fair and equitable access for people in every country in the world. ASM will contribute 100% of the donations made specifically to the COVAX initiative during the month of June to this effort.

Why Your Donation Matters

Microbiology is about humanity. Microbiologists worldwide have always known that microbes know no borders. Now, it’s time to show that microbiologists can come together from around the world. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic we have been united. The world looked to us to provide answers and clear path forward. We’re ready to leverage our insight and foresight to serve even more people, no matter where they are.

Support the efficacy of vaccines. Now is the time to back your science and show that vaccines are safe, effective and save lives. Just as we came together to develop vaccines, we must now come together to help get vaccines in every arm. The more people get vaccinated, the more we can reduce the spread of COVID-19 and its associated negative outcomes.

Take your science to the last mile. We generated the research, shared our science, developed diagnostics, tested therapeutics and worked tirelessly to find vaccines. We did it all in record time. But, our work is not yet done. Let us take our science even further and ensure that vaccines are distributed worldwide.
