How will attendees join the conference?
The 2021 ASMCUE conference app/platform will be available in late May. After your registration is confirmed, access the app and create your profile to get access to online programming. Prior to the start of the conference, use your registration email to create a profile. Note that it may take up to 24 hours after registration for you to gain access to the platform.
What will I be able to do in the conference platform?
The entire conference will be hosted in the conference app, and you can access the platform through a downloadable mobile app or a web browser. You will use the app to do the following:
- View the schedule.
- Attend pre-conference workshops.
- Join all talks and events.
- Join the live chats.
- View posters.
- View all recordings until Dec. 31, 2021.
- Network with attendees.
- Interact with exhibitors.
How will attendees engage with the conference?
There are many different ways to engage with the conference:
- Participate in live, informal networking chats and live poster chats.
- Chat with attendees during many talks.
- View and comment on posters in the app.
- Have 1:1 meetings with attendees or exhibitors through the app.
- Find and connect with attendees through the app.
How is ASMCUE different from other conferences offered by professional societies?
All content in ASMCUE is focused on practical tips & tools to help educators teach undergraduate biology and microbiology. Based on attendee surveys, the top reason for attending ASMCUE is to network with other educators who teach similar courses. For this reason, 2021 ASMCUE Virtual is a fully live conference with numerous opportunities to network.
How are talks for ASMCUE selected?
The 2021 ASMCUE Planning Committee selects plenary speakers who fit the mission and theme of the meeting through recommendations. Sessions, posters and microbrews are solicited through a call for proposals. Volunteer review committees use publicly available rubrics for peer review of all abstract submissions.
When will I know whether my abstract was accepted for a presentation at ASMCUE?
The deadline for all proposals (sessions, posters, microbrews) is April 15, 2021. We expect to notify authors of decisions in mid-May 2021, along with their assigned presentation date and time.

To receive immediate support directly from the app, follow the following steps:
- Tap the Me tab at bottom right of screen.
- Tap the Settings icon, at top left of screen.
- Click on Feedback & Help.
- Click New Conversation.
- Provide details of your issue.
