Moratorium on In-Person Meetings Extended through End of 2021

Aug. 2, 2021

Due to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases and the increased community spread of the SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant, the ASM Board of Directors has extended the current no in-person meetings/no travel policy through the end of the year. Therefore, all ASM in-person meetings scheduled to occur during the remaining of 2021 will be either converted into online meetings or postponed for an in-person event. This decision was reached after careful consideration for the safety and wellbeing of our community and applies to meetings and travel inside and outside of the US, including branch meetings and student chapter meetings.

As a result, ASM’s 2021 Clinical Virology Symposium (CVS) will not be held in person September 27-30 in West Palm Beach, FL. ASM will fully refund registration and exhibitor fees for CVS, and the CVS Program Committee will convene in August to identify opportunities for digital programming. Visit the CVS webpage for the latest updates on digital programming and CVS 2022. The 2021 Biofilms Conference will also be rescheduled for 2022 or held in a digital format. Check back soon for updated information on the Biofilms webpage.

We wish you continued good health in these challenging times and look forward to gathering digitally until in-person meetings can resume.
