Society Day

ASM is pleased to announce an educational partnership for related societies at the upcoming ASM Microbe 2019 Meeting in San Francisco. In recognition of the growing interdisciplinary community addressing microbiology and the need for collaboration, ASM will host Society Day on Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This will be an opportunity for related societies to invite their current and potential members to educational sessions organized by their leadership. ASM will provide meeting space and limited logistical support for these events. Details are as follows:

  1. To secure space for your event, the Event Request Form must be completed by Thursday, March 28, 2019.
  2. Events will be scheduled at the Moscone Center, 747 Howard Street, San Francisco, CA 94103; www.moscone.com
    1. ASM will provide the room complimentary.
      1. The room set up will be theater with a head table and podium. If you prefer an alternate set, there will be a charge for resetting the room.
      2. Available meeting rooms will have a capacity of approximately 300. Requests for larger rooms will be considered but cannot be guaranteed. Rooms to accommodate less than 100 are not available.
    2. ASM will provide the standard AV complimentary.
      1. Head table and podium microphone
      2. LCD Projector and screen
      3. One PC laptop
    3. Once we receive your confirmation, ASM will provide you with a catering contact at the Center. All food and beverage expenses will be direct billed by the cMoscone Center to the society.
  3. ASM is not able to provide staffing for your event. An onsite ASM contact will be available to ensure the room is set up, and ready for the event, and to provide assistance to answer any questions; however, ASM will not be responsible for providing staffing for onsite needs, such as registration and/or logistical support.
  4. Society Events may be held any time between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. (i.e., events may start and end at varying times between the specified hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.). All educational activities must end by 4:00 p.m.
  5. Open attendance for scientific presentations at society events is encouraged and should be of interest to all or a targeted segment of the ASM Microbe attendee.
  6. Societies must share the final program, including times, topics and speakers, with ASM by Thursday, March 28, 2019. Promotion of the ASM Society Day programs will be incorporated into the ASM 2019 Microbe promotional plan.
  7. Societies must create and share with ASM a program and/or registration link through their society’s website that will be included in the promotional materials for the ASM Society Day.
