Dr. Balaji Vasudevan is currently Director of Research, Tiamat Sciences Corporation, located in Research Triangle Park, N.C. His work focuses on development and application of dsRNA mediated exogenous/spray on RNAi to combat pathogens and pests in crop plants. Previously at Greenlight Biosciences and at a gene editing company, Cibus in San Diego, Vasudevan has generated transgenic and gene edited potato and Arabidopsis events and showed tolerance to late blight disease and bacterial disease.

Vasudevan has 16 referenced international publications in top plant science journals, served as an editorial board member for Plant Science Journal and Research in Plant Biology, and is an invited reviewer for 8 reputed journals, including Transgenic Research, Plant Cell Reports and Theoretical and Applied Genetics.
