Boo Shan Tseng, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the School of Life Sciences at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV). She completed her S.B. in Biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2003 and received her Ph.D. with Dr. Hironori Funabiki at Rockefeller University in 2010, studying the regulation of eukaryotic chromosome segregation. Dr. Tseng transitioned to studying Pseudomonas aeruginosa for her postdoctoral studies with Dr. Matthew R. Parsek at the University of Washington. Her postdoctoral work mainly focused on biofilm formation of this microbe. Dr. Tseng started her faculty position at UNLV in 2016, where her group continues to study the functions of the extracellular matrix in biofilm formation and has recently branched into studying the envelope stress response.
