Dan Wall is a professor in the Molecular Biology Department at the University of Wyoming. He received his bachelor’s degree in biology from the Sonoma State University, his doctoral degree from the University of Utah, and he conducted a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University. Prior to his current position he started in 2007, Wall worked on antibiotic drug discovery at San Diego biotechnology companies for eight years. Wall has played an active leadership role in the Rocky Mountain Branch of ASM for more than 10 years, including serving as Branch President.

Research in the Wall Lab focuses on how myxobacteria socially interact and transition to multicellularity by an aggregation strategy. Specifically, his group studies molecular mechanisms of kin recognition, social cooperation and how myxobacteria discriminate against non-kin cells.
