George Breeden, CAE, is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the American Society for Microbiology. Breeden has worked in technology leadership within the nonprofit industry for over 30 years starting with the American Society for Association Executives. Immediately prior to joining ASM, Breeden was the CIO for the Investment Company Institute. Breeden is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and currently serves as a commissioner on the CAE Commission. Additionally, Breeden volunteers as an emergency medical technician as a member of the Wheaton Volunteer Rescue Squad and is a volunteer ski patroller at Canaan Valley, W.Va. He holds an MBA and a masters in nonprofit management (MNM) from the University of Maryland, Global Campus.
