Heidi Albert, Ph.D., MPH, is Principal Scientist, Access at FIND, based in Cape Town, South Africa. She holds a Ph.D. in pharmacy and pharmacology from University of Bath, United Kingdom, and a MPH in health economics from University of Cape Town. She has more than 20 years of experience in tuberculosis diagnostics development, implementation and diagnostic network strengthening in low- and middle-income countries. She currently serves on the World Health Organization Global TB Programme Technical Advisory Group on Tuberculosis Diagnostics and Laboratory Strengthening and has contributed to multiple global and national TB diagnostic guidelines and tools. She leads FIND’s work on diagnostic network optimization, supporting countries to improve access and efficiency of integrated diagnostic systems.
