J. Jordan Steel, Ph.D.

Dr. Jordan Steel received his Ph.D. in Molecular Virology from Colorado State University (CSU) and has been teaching microbiology courses ever since. He is passionate about active learning and having an inclusive, student-centered classroom that explores the fascinating worlds of cells and microbes. He has taught community college courses, online courses and traditional lecture/lab courses at regional comprehensive universities. Steel is currently teaching as an assistant professor at the United States Air Force Academy. He has been recognized for his teaching efforts by receiving several awards, including the National Association of Biology Teachers Four Year Section Biology Teaching Award in 2017 and the CSU Pueblo University Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2018.
He was a speaker in the 2019 and 2020 ASM Strategies for Teaching Undergraduate Biology Online Series.
