June L. Chan, Ph.D., D(ABMM), M(ASCP), is an assistant attending on the clinical microbiology service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, N.Y. She oversees diagnostic testing performed in the microbiology core (specimen processing, rapid molecular and send-out testing), mycobacteriology and parasitology laboratory sections. Chan is a Diplomate of the American Board of Medical Microbiology and ASCP-certified technologist in microbiology with over a decade of training in the microbiological sciences. She completed her medical and public health laboratory microbiology fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles. A strong believer that the microbiology laboratory is essential to providing optimal patient care, Chan is committed to delivering high-quality diagnostics, fostering scientific education and to advancing scientific research.
