Liyan Teng, M.S., joined the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) in 2023 as the Editorial Development Manager for ASM Journals in China. She was the first ASM employee based outside of the U.S. In this role, Teng is responsible for developing the China content growth strategy and growing the footprint and reputation of ASM Journals in China. Prior to joining ASM, she accumulated 10 years of experience in the scholarly publishing industry, with extensive expertise in editorial engagement with research communities in China.
Teng previously held positions as the Scientific Editor of Emerging Microbes and Infections and the Editorial & Academic Affairs Manager for Nature Portfolio and Springer Nature, Greater China, as well as the Director of Academic Relations at a science and technology service company. Throughout her career, she has been committed to serving the Chinese research community, with the goal of promoting scientific innovations by scholarly publishing.
Teng received her M.S. degrees in microbiology from Fudan University, China.
