ASM thanks the Council on Microbial Sciences (COMS) for their service, insights and commitment to ASM's mission. COMS has played a pivotal role in steering ASM through times of transition and growth, helping the Society remain both forward-looking and deeply grounded in our mission. 

The establishment of ASM's 3 Scientific Units, ASM Health, ASM Applied and Environmental Microbiology and ASM Mechanism Discovery—and associated scientific advisory councils (SACs)—represents the natural evolution of COMS. The excellent work of COMS has laid a strong foundation that will help advance ASM’s efforts to shape the future of the field.

We recognize the vision, leadership and effort of COMS members and are excited to continue this momentum as we chart the next chapter of ASM's strategic direction together!
