Eligibility & Applications

Who can apply to attend the symposium?
The symposium is open to researchers, students, clinicians, government representatives, librarians, educators and health professionals with an interest in microbial sciences and related fields.

Is participation open to all applicants?
Participation is application-based. All applications will be reviewed for subject matter expertise, relevance to the symposium themes and to ensure a diverse and well-balanced cohort across gender, career stages and sectors.

I missed the application deadline. Can I still apply?
Due to high interest in the symposium, application deadlines are strictly enforced to ensure timely review and decision-making. We are unable to consider applications submitted after the deadline.

Please refer to the timeline on the website for decision dates and check your email (including your spam/junk folder) for notifications. If you have not received any communication after the notification date, please contact india@asmusa.org

Can I apply for a speaking opportunity?
Applicants may submit an abstract for consideration for a presentation. Presentation opportunities are limited and subject to review.

Can I request a specific day to present my abstract?
Due to the size of the meeting and the number of presentations, we will not accept special scheduling requests for abstract presentations.

Can I request to change my presentation from poster to oral?
While we understand preferences may vary, requests to change presentation format (poster to oral) cannot be accommodated. Presenters are expected to adhere to their assigned format. If you are unable to present, please inform the organizers.
