ASM Microbe Online FAQs
What is ASM Microbe Online?
Due to the cancellation of the in-person ASM Microbe 2020 meeting, ASM collaborated with the Program Committee to develop a virtual program. While the entire program from ASM Microbe 2020 will not be presented, sessions were selected from across all 8 scientific tracks to include in the online program. ASM Microbe Online will be presented in 3 segments from June through Aug.
What are the dates of ASM Microbe Online?
Online programming will be presented on the following dates:
- Monday, June 22: ASM Update with Keynote Speakers and ePosters
- Thursday, July 16: President's Forum
- Monday, July 20: On-demand Symposia
- Tuesday, July 21 – Wednesday, July 22: Live Symposia
- Monday, July 28 – Tuesday, July 29: After Chats
- Monday, Aug. 17: Live Keynote Address
What are the times of the session?
The ASM Update, President’s Forum and Keynote Addresses will take place from 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. ET. Live symposia will be 1 hour in length and take place from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. ET. On-demand sessions and ePoster viewing will be available 24-hours a day.
When will the full program be available?
The live and on-demand schedule, including session details and speakers, will be available at the end of June.
How long will the ASM Microbe Online content be available to members?
The content will be available to members thru June 1, 2021.
What are the registration fees?
There are no registration fees. ASM members will have full access to all programming. Non-members may access limited content. While the ASM Update and ePoster module are open access, the live and on-demand sessions beginning in July are exclusive to ASM members only. Join ASM or renew your membership to experience the full ASM Microbe Online program.
How do I access the program?
ASM members will log in with their ASM credentials. Non-members will need to create an ASM user account to access the non-member content, including ePosters. Contact ASM Customer Service for assistance with member credentials or non-member accounts.
Will the live sessions be recorded?
Will transcripts be provided for on-demand content?
How do I present an ePoster?
The ePoster site is open to individuals who were accepted in the ASM Microbe 2020 program. ASM is not opening a new call for abstracts. If an individual with an accepted abstract from ASM Microbe 2020 does not wish to participate in the online program, their abstract will not be withdrawn, and they may cite the abstract as accepted. However, it will not be displayed on the ePoster site.
How do I upload my ePoster?
Poster presenters will receive an email the week of June 15 with instructions to upload their ePoster with a 5-minute presentation. The ePoster upload site will remain open through August 31. The ePosters will be available for viewing for 1 year through June 2021. Poster presenters may contact the ASM Meetings Program team with questions or for technical support related to ePosters. I am seeing a blank page when I get to the ASM Microbe Online platform. What do I do?
Are there opportunities for industry to participate?
The Industry & Science program and a virtual exhibit hall will launch in Aug. Opportunities will be available for exhibitors confirmed for ASM Microbe 2020. More details will be available at the end of June.
What citation format do I use for an accepted abstract?
