Attendees of ASM Microbe 2026 will be able to claim up to 34.75 credit hours of CME (AMA PRA Category 1™) and 34.5 credit hours of P.A.C.E.®, CA-CE or FL-CE.
Is there a cost to claim credit hours when attending ASM Microbe 2026?
CME (AMA PRA Category 1™) credit hours require an administrative fee of $75 at the time of registration.
P.A.C.E.®, CA-CE, and FL-CE do not require an additional fee.
How do I purchase the ability to claim CME (AMA PRA Category 1™) credit hours?
To add CME to your ASM Microbe registration record, login using your ASM account credentials. On your dashboard, click on "Attendee Profile." On the profile page, click "Yes, I will be claiming CME Credits." Click "Next" to review and check out. Your credit card on file will be used for payment. Click, "Pay Now," to complete. If you need additional assistance, or do not have a credit card on file, please visit the Registration help desk at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center between Thursday, June 4 and Sunday, June 7 at 12 p.m. ET.
Will I have an opportunity to purchase the ability to claim CME credit hours after attending ASM Microbe?
No, you must purchase CME with your registration record or add it onsite while attending ASM Microbe in Washington, D.C. You will have until Sunday, June 7 at 12 p.m. ET (local time) to add the CME option to your registration.
Can I claim CME/CE credit hours by viewing on-demand sessions?
CME credit claiming will be available for on-demand viewing of select recorded content after the meeting. This option is only available for CME and will be unavailable for P.A.C.E.®, CA-CE, and FL-CE.
Can I claim continuing education credit in the ASM Microbe 2026 app?
No, credit hours cannot be claimed in the ASM Microbe 2026 mobile app.
To receive credit for ASM Microbe 2026, attendees must participate in eligible sessions and complete the required evaluations. The process varies by credit type:

Attendees of ASM Microbe 2026 will be able to self-generate the following continuing education certificates and general participation certificates within the ASM Microbe 2026 Certificate & Credit Portal:

P.A.C.E.® Certificate.
California Clinical Laboratory Personnel Certificate.
Attendees of ASM Microbe 2026 who opted to pay the $75 fee for the opportunity to claim AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ (CME) credit hours for eligible sessions will receive an email with a required evaluation that must be completed to receive credit. Upon completion of the evaluation, you will receive your CME certificate by email from The France Foundation (TFF).

Professional Acknowledgment for Continuing Education (P.A.C.E. ®) is an administrative system established to stimulate and serve as the quality assurance mechanism for continuing education programs offered to clinical laboratory professionals by ASCLS constituent societies, laboratory industry, government agencies, hospitals and educational organizations.
California Clinical Laboratory Personnel
The American Society for Microbiology is accredited by the California Department of Health to offer continuing education for California Clinical Laboratory Personnel. All sessions designated for P.A.C.E.® credits will also qualify for California CE credits toward license renewal.
Florida Clinical Laboratory Personnel
The American Society for Microbiology is accredited by the Florida Department of Health to offer continuing education for Florida Clinical Laboratory Personnel. All sessions designated for P.A.C.E.® credits will also qualify for Florida CE credits toward license renewal.
All other health care professionals completing this course will be issued a statement of participation.
