Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a growing public health threat. AMR occurs when bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites change over time and no longer respond to medicines or antimicrobial agents, making infections more difficult or impossible to treat. In the U.S., the CDC estimates that more than 2.8 million antimicrobial-resistant infections occur each year, and more than 35,000 people die as a result. This webinar series will explore how everyone's lives are affected by resistant infections by exploring the impact of AMR among different populations.
